Climbing Aboard

Good grief! Another 'Tora' feature this week already but he seems to be catching my eye at the moment. Perhaps it is his fine glossy early summer coat that I can't help admiring.
We were working both downstairs yesterday evening and our one 'armchair' (actually a wicker garden chair, we live a rather 'simple life' in 'Little House') was in the kitchen. Pero as usual was already installed with sole proprietorial rights as 'resident alpha cat'. Beats me how she keeps her position as boss because she is only half Tora's size but there you go, he's a perfect gentleman.
Usually. Last night that chair looked just too tempting and Pero was fast asleep. Stealthily, one paw at a time and feigning to look in the opposite direction, Tora eased himself onto the edge of that chair whisker by whisker. It must have taken him ten minutes to get aboard and settle himself down into a sitting position. We just couldn't help laughing. It was a masterpiece of deception.
Actually this is a pretty hazardous operation for him, sometimes times I've seen Pero give him a real bite for his cheek when he tries something like this. But he's learned to be a master of caution. A couple ot times Pero gave a sleepy but half-hearted "put one hair over that line pal and see what happens" kind of growl but she was too drowsy and comfortable to care, her heart wasn't in it.
And here they are both asleep on the comfortable chair at last. Mission accomplished.

It looks as though one of the cats is in b&w and t'other in colour. Grey cat on grey cushion against brown cat on blue cushion. Or have you been messing about with Photoshop?
Just got back into England after an eight week spell in Cyprus. Tholeman blog is now re-activated.
Norman
What ho! Ian. How is the choral life over there in Japan?
Nice to see you back from rainy Cyprus Norman - bet you hated it eh? No the cats really are that colour
Hello too Can Bass - is that the fish or the beer I wonder? Took a 'gander' at your blog and - hard to imagine - it is even crankier than 'Little House' I see. Yes choral life is going swimmingly, we have some major plans for next year still under wraps but which might be 'revealed' here soon so you'll have to keep reading!
